 개역개정 천부장이 바울을 영내로 데려가라 명하고 그들이 무슨 일로 그에 대하여 떠드는지 알고자 하여 채찍질하며 심문하라 한대
 KJV The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
 NIV the commander ordered Paul to be taken into the barracks. He directed that he be flogged and questioned in order to find out why the people were shouting at him like this.
 공동번역 그러자 파견대장은 바울로를 병영 안으로 끌어 들이라고 명령하였다. 그리고 유다인들이 바울로를 향해서 그렇게 소리지르는 이유를 알려고 채찍질해서 조사해 보라고 하였다.
